YOUTH ACTORS OF MITCHELL
START ACTING
Do you love acting? Is it your passion? Are you mildly interested in it? Do you live in Mitchell? Are you between the ages of 10 and 15? Are you somewhat close to being between those ages? If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, then Youth Actors of Mitchell is the group for you! In Y.A.M., we work to create a fun and all-inclusive environment in which young theater enthusiasts can learn and grow as actors! As such, we perform serious plays-
or, at the very least, plays written to be performed by adults. We also work to help kids feel like more comfortable, independent people, so, whenever possible, we try to keep things adult-free! If you want to join, there are two main things you can do to make that happen.
Send us a message! That way, the next time we're having auditions, we can keep you in mind, and send you a reminder.
Keep an eye on the calendar. Whether it's the calendar on this website or on our Facebook page, we will post times for auditions, and you can come to those.
Found an audition, but not sure what else to do? This next bit will cover that.
What to do About an Audition
So. You've decided that you want to join the group. You've found an audition. But... what comes next? Should you prepare something? Should you bring your parent or legal guardian? What do you need to do? In short, no, yes, and I'll elaborate! No, you don't need to prepare anything. If possible, please, please, please bring a parent or legal guardian! Although we do want to try and keep things to the kids, for legal reasons, and just because it makes things a lot easier, please bring a parent or legal guardian to the audition. If that is absolutely impossible, that's okay, but please come knowing their contact information.
At your audition, you'll most likely do the following: Fill out a couple of forms, play a game or two, learn about the play you'll be performing, and meet the rest of the cast.
If you audition, you will be a part of the production! Don't worry. Everyone who auditions will get a part in the cast and crew, whether it be in acting, publicity, set design, or whatever! If you have a really strong preference, we can probably work something out, just let the director of the play know before it is cast.
